Europe's Largest In-Water Boat Show comes to an end

The 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival, Europe's largest in-water boat show, concluded yesterday after an impressive week of showcasing the latest in marine innovation and craftsmanship. Since its inception in 1977, the Cannes Yachting Festival has grown into a key event in the global yachting calendar, attracting exhibitors and visitors from across the world. This year, the festival took place from September 10-15, bringing together over 700 boats, from luxury superyachts to innovative day boats, spread across the Vieux Port and Port Canto. The event featured a range of exhibitions, sea trials, and press conferences, providing a comprehensive platform for networking and brand promotion within the maritime industry.

Soproyacht was proudly represented at the festival by Ricardo Martins, Managing Director, and Andrea Esposito, Sales Executive. As the exclusive dealers for leading marine brands in Portugal, Soproyacht showcased their partners’ latest innovations and engaged with industry leaders and clients. Their key partners—Fountaine Pajot Motor and Sail, Beneteau Sail, Williams Jet Tenders, Ranieri International, Sessa Marine, and FIM—each presented a range of new models and technological advancements, reinforcing their positions as leaders in the yachting sector.

Fountaine Pajot showcased an impressive fleet of seven sailing catamarans, headlined by the flagship Thíra 80. Alongside this, two motor yachts, the MY6 and Power 67, were on display. Fountaine Pajot also used the event to announce its upcoming New 41, a catamaran slated to replace the Isla 40. This entry-level multihull will offer enhanced features, including a double helm station, extensive solar paneling, and the option of either a traditional combustion engine or electric propulsion. With more luxurious elements compared to its predecessors, the New 41 is set for launch in 2025.

Beneteau Sail

Beneteau captivated visitors with the announcement of their upcoming First 30, a compact yet innovative sailboat designed by Sam Manuard and Lorenzo Argento. The First 30 seeks to balance sport sailing with the comfort of cruising, positioned as an affordable option in the 9-meter range. Set for release in 2025, it aims to appeal to a broad spectrum of sailors, particularly those looking for performance at an accessible price point. Beneteau's team emphasized its commitment to creating lighter, more efficient boats, reflecting ongoing efforts to innovate within the smaller boat segment.

Both models offer modern design elements and cutting-edge features, catering to a growing demand for versatile, high-performance day boats.

Sessa Marine

Sessa Marine brought two models to the show, but it was the unveiling of the F60 Flybridge yacht that stole the spotlight. The F60 epitomizes Sessa Marine’s focus on blending innovation and luxury, with a spacious saloon bathed in natural light and three private guest suites below deck. Its performance, comfort, and aesthetic appeal make it one of the most highly anticipated yacht launches of the year.

Already awarded Best Exterior Design in the 45-64-foot category at the World Yachts Trophies, the 500 Regina promises to be a standout in the market.
